Needing Homes

Adoption - Giving them a happy life

Needing Homes

As a small organisation, Fingal S.P.C.A does not possess the necessary funds to run an actual shelter or sanctuary.  All of the animals that we rescue are cared for in the homes of our fostering volunteers or in catteries/kennels until they are adopted.

Before adoption a home check is always required to ensure all animals are well matched with their new families. Advice and support can also be given. Please consult our Adoption Guide to ensure you are ready to welcome your new furry companion in your home.

Please note that an adoption fee/donation of €40.00 is requested for a kitten and €60.00 for a neutered/spayed adult cat to help offset part of the costs incurred to rescue, feed and provide the cat with necessary medical care.

If you would like to adopt any of our animals, please contact our volunteer on 089 4612537 or send an email to our dedicated email.

Soldier

August 30, 2026
Soldier is FIV positive. We know that may make some people scroll past, but please give this lovely boy a chance. Soldier is around 10 years old or older and has now been in foster care for 18 months, making him our longest-standing foster in a long while if not ever! We would really, really love to see him finally find his forever home. When Soldier came to us, he was in a terrible state, underweight, covered in mats, fleas and ticks, suffering from diarrhoea and digestive problems, and needing surgery to remove a large lump from his shoulder. Clearly his humans had failed him. However, he has remained an incredibly gentle and affectionate cat. He loves being indoors, loves sitting beside his human, doesn't mind being picked up and is fine with dogs. He also absolutely loves his food, despite only having 4 teeth. Soldier does need a few things from his future home:   He needs to be the only cat.   He needs a suitable diet because of his sensitive stomach.  He is long-haired, so regular grooming is important, but he really enjoys that part! We know an older FIV-positive cat isn't going to be the easiest adoption. But Soldier isn't looking for just anyone. He's looking for *his* person, someone who will see an older boy who has been through far too much and decide that he deserves to be spoiled for the rest of his life. After 18 months, we think it's time Soldier finally got his forever home. Please also share so more people can meet this wonderful cat.

Ivy and Denis

August 24, 2026
Ivy and Denis, two wonderful foster kittens, looking for a home together. Ivy has been the best foster sister to a few shy kittens this summer, helping them adjust and relax so they could get adopted. Ivy is now ready for adoption herself and Denis wants to go with her. Denis is still a bit shy and adores Ivy and Ivy adores him too. As foster mum Grace says, they cannot be separated and have to be rehomed together. Ivy and Denis are healthy, wormed and litter trained. Please contact us if interested in adopting Ivy and Denis, home check and adoption fee applicable.

Ron

July 12, 2026
Ron is approximately 1 years old, he turned up as a stray in January/February 2026 and has been slowly trying to trust humans. He wants to be a pet but hasnt figured out how just yet. He spends all day around the house and will come inside for short periods to explore. He will rub up against his humans when feeding him and occasionally try to bop heads with them, he accepts some pets when hes in the right mood. He can be territorial around food with other cats and he was neutered recently. He's also nervous of children and would take some time to warm up to adults so would need a quiet home. He likes being outdoors but would possibly be fine being indoors too as he has used the litter tray when needed Please contact Melanie on 086 321 6694 if you can adopt Ron. He is young and deserves a chance. Melanie adopted two kittens from Fingal SPCA and if we had room and a suitable fosterer, we would gladly take him. We always need fosterers and if there is someone willing to foster Ron, please let us know. Food and litter is supplied and vets' costs covered
